*IMPORTANT
ALERT*
STOP GETTING RIPPED OFF EVERY TIME YOU
GET A WEAPON SHIPPED
I
am so sick and tired of hearing about people that are forced
to pay high rates in shipping a weapon (handgun or long gun)
interstate or intrastate. Forcing to have people use FedEx or
UPS with their anti-gun shipping rates for overnight is wrong.
If you are getting a weapon from dealer to dealer you can do
to save money and be within the law.
Have
them send the weapon through the post office in a flat rate
box. The boxes cost nothing and are readily available from the
post office. Have them
insure the shipping box for the value of the weapon and also
request the purchase of a confirmation receipt. If the item
will not fit in a flat rate box then have them put the weapon
in one of their two day priority boxes or supply your own box
and ship it two day priority mail. You will not believe the
shipping money you will save.
If you are dealing with a dealer who insists that it is the
law that such weapons are to be sent overnight via UPS or FedEx
tell them to brush up on the laws because they don't know what
the hell they are talking about. There is no law in place that
states one must send a handgun or any other weaponry overnight,
much less through UPS or FedEx. At this point instead of you
being charged anywhere from $40.00 on up you will be paying
approximately $11.00 or thereabouts depending on how much insurance
will cost but you will never get near the outrageous rates of
FedEx or UPS.
Do
you remember folks that UPS and FedEx a couple of years ago
decided that they were not going to accept weapons any more.
Then we made a major complaint about their new practices that
they wanted to initiate so they backed off. So they did the
next best thing they raised their rates and specified that weapons
(handguns) had to go overnight express. Don't use them they
are anti-gun pieces of crap.
Now
for regular people who want to send their gun via the post office
we are not allowed to because it is against the law. The frame
or receiver is considered the gun so if you are thinking "well
I just take out the barrel and that will be fine" no they
got that covered so you have to use a dealer or someone who
is "authorized" to ship a weapon. God Bless the powers
to be I wonder if the bad guys give a royal hoot about the law.
As far as I am concerned this BS about who can and cannot send
through the mail is just another way a tyrannical government
can keep the civilian population under their thumb. You take
it from here. Neal and Melissa
